Hi everyone from beautiful Santo Stefano Belbo in the Langhe/Roero wine region of Piedmont. The jewel in the crown as far as I'm concerned is the place we are staying: Tenuto Fagnanetto.i can't even remember how it found this place but I knew as soon as I saw it that I wanted to stay! It's a beautiful, family run agriturismo just outside of town. Our loggia is beautiful and we have a lovely terrace with stunning views of ...

... hard and how much love Italians put into their work. It will be a satisfying experience to learn what they know and feel how they feel about what they do, such as make good wine and food. I want to stay with family on a winery for my duration over there. This way I can learn their culture and their sense of family. Maybe, I will learn to speak some Italiana. Haha.

    Asti

From Pavia, we headed to Asti, Originally we were heading for a Vin Yard with the ability for an overnight stop with facilities (from our camperdstop book), sadly we got there and there was nothing so headed for our alternative Campeggio Cagnidi Asti - It was a predominately permanent vans but with a few touring pitches.

We didn't actually do anything here so nothing to report - Just a pin in the map.

Slight change of plans - we left Roma at 2pm driving out easily - thank you Sarina (Tomtom) and headed for Asti - Guido navigated the autostrada like a champ and no wrong turns thru the crazy Genoa labyrinth of tunnels. Got in at about 9pm and headed out for some sparkles and dinner.
Gianni and Luca looked after Gran and Papa Tuesday morning visiting the local market and exploring the medieval centre of beautiful Asti. Guido and I headed off to attend a family funeral nearby. Sad ...

She wanted us to stay for dinner but we really felt we should go and visit so they did. The place is still the same, except there are now roses out the front instead of the pine tree that used to be there and there is a for sale sign. Samuel has grown and is a chatterbox. Flor's mother, Victoria, is there and is only my age. Worked out Flor is only 37. Robert is the same, and actually went to Melbourne in February, and has enrolled Samuel for school next year ...
