... has been jumping up and down since we decided to go to Portugal because he was so excited to get his hands (and his mouth) on some Portuguese food. Well he wasn’t disappointed. First of all, the food is so inexpensive. None of our meals have been over 10 Euros each. The food is delicious. Pork, Chicken, Seafood. It’s all cooked wonderfully and comes with rice, fries, a small salad and a drink. Chris has been enjoying the Sumols which is an orange ...
Porto, Northern Portugal, Portugal ktchris... bad. Port is a fortified wine that is mixed with Brandy to halt the fermentation, so in many of the less expensive wines the balance is poorly done and it tastes and smells like off Brandy. However, if you can splurge on a glass of vintage or lbv port, you'll be pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed the nicer ones quite a bit, but as it's very sweet it's something I could only enjoy a bit at a time.

Porto, Northern Portugal, Portugal cariverga... are. The distilleries were surprisingly accessible, with all of them offering tours of the caves and tastings, for a fee of course. We were only able to visit a couple (Porto seems to close for 2 hours during lunch) before catching our evening flight out, but we are glad to have tried some new and very interesting kinds of port. Thank you Portugal, we will be back to see more.
Porto, Northern Portugal, Portugal tommcatt... We arrived safely thanks to these total strangers. He advised us not to take the caravan into Porto.
The next day we went on the bus to Porto and discovered why. The 8 kilometer journey took about an hour as the bus travelled in ever decreasing circles through streets normally impassable to a bus without the use of a horn and the assistance of disgruntled lorry and car drivers who had to backup. On arriving in Porto feeling shaken and stirred we discovered a ...
... getting to the place - one woman threatened to throw out her sat nav after taking the wrong turn numerous times. The rain continued and as the camp site only offered sites under oak trees we had a few very noisy nights with water dripping, acorns and oak apples falling on the caravan and a stream running underneath it we decided to move on.
Braga, Northern Portugal, Portugal mikeandsuecuff... the better part of an hour looking for any restaurant that was opened. Our meals were : a tuna salad (a can of tuna, unrippened tomatoes and lettuce) and pork (a peice of pork, rice and french fries.) Long story short we were more then enthusiastic to get on the road in the morning to leave Porto behind

Famalicao, Portugal livingthedreamKit: Today we left for Porto with Victor. It was a three hour trip and we were in the first carriage. When we arrived we booked into a hotel. Dylan: It was the first hotel we've stayed in that had elevators. Kit: Then we went to the river and we saw that everyone who was fishing was fishing in the polluted area. Raymond's Travel Page
