Historical Traveler Reviews Casa de Amistad Isla de Vieques
I was married on Vieques recently and many of our guests stayed at Casa de Amistad. (Since they don't have all have internet, I agreed to write this review for them.) Everyone loved it! The hosts were extremely nice & gave great recommendations, even about a place to stay in San Juan. The rooms are very cute, nice little pool, warm atmosphere and, again, the owners were terrific. Several people want to come back & plan to stay here again!
greatm place clean comfy and a lot of laughs from the owners. Great banana bread
Loved the design
This hotel is a real surprise! A great design, really good staff and the room was so well decorated and clean.
The swimming pool and the pool area were so nice and peacefull. I had a wonderfull time.
A jewel of a hotel. Super friendly staff and charming decor. The AC blasts a definite plus in the tropics. Our 5 and 7 year olds loved the place, the pool is a bonus. Owen is really friendly and helpful. Cannot praise this place enough. A great kitchen too.
Home away from home
My partner and I live in San Juan, and we like to "escape" the craziness of the metro area at least every few months. Vieques has been one of the places that we love to go because the whole island is so laid back. We just returned from two nights at Casa de Amistad, and we will definitely return. This small little guesthouse, within walking distance of the ferry, is charming. We were treated very well from the time that we walked in the door. Like most guesthouses in Vieques, this is not the place to be if you need a phone or television in your room, but a visit to this island is supposed to be an escape from all of that anyway! (Besides, you can always use your cell phone anyway.) Owen was a great host, and we will definitely return.
Casa de Amistad was an excellent place to stay in Vieques. It truly is like a home away from home. The guesthouse is very warm and welcoming, the hosts are very friendly and helpful, and the rooms are impeccable. In addition, they will provide you with everything you need (Beach chairs, coolers and beach towels) to enjoy the many unspoiled beaches of this paradise. It really does not get any better than this especially for such a bargain. I will definetely return to this special place.
Cute and very friendly
Owen was a remarkably friendly host; the Casa de Amistad truly is like a home away from home. Cheap, clean rooms, charming pool/backyard area. Beach towels provided. We stayed for five nights and the only downside was the roosters crowing in the morning!
Marinated in Art & Style
We had a marvelous stay under Owen's gracious care at Casa di Amistad. Every part of the hotel was graced by an artist's thoughtlful touch, the hospitality far exceeded our expectations, and the daily fresh-baked banana bread was out of this world. We'd go back to this jewel in the rough in a heartbeat! Jim & Stephanie South Orange, NJ
Home away from Home
We recently returned from a 17 day trip to Puerto Rico. Four of those nights were spent in Vieques at the Casa de Amistad, this was the crowned jewel of our trip. Casa de Amistad run by Owen and Armando is really a home away from home. This was our second time there and they really make you feel like family. They go out of their way to make your trip run smoothly. The rooms are clean, with new A/Cs and comfortable beds. The best place to eat for great Puerto Rican food was The Patio ($5 for a filling lunch). The best beach for privacy was Blue Beach and the most beautiful views were at Red Beach. If you plan to go to Puerto Rico Vieques is a must and if you want to get the most out of it stay with Owen and Armando at Casa de Amistad!
The Best place on the island!
Not only is this guest house beautiful, charming, clean and very reasonable, the owners are so much fun. They can help you find the best places on the island to ensure that your stay on Vieques will be amazing. My friends and I not only fell in love with this guest house but we gained a friend and are looking forward to returning soon. I highly recommend Casa de Amistad.
