We're preparing to return to Sweden...just in time for a little winter weather and of course one of the nicest times of the year, Jul.

We've said goodbye to our Spanish friends, warning them that we would return next year. We can't survive the WHOLE Swedish winter after all!

Since my last blog we've been busy with the usual activities. We've been hiking, wine tasting, learning a bit of Spanish while helping our Spanish speaking friends to improve ...

Hi...some of you have asked about my blog...yes, it's been MIA (missing in action) lately, probably because we've been living a pretty normal routine. Nothing much to mention as daily life seems to be a bit boring for anyone who's not in the middle of it. But since some of you aren't on Facebook where I post the "routine" stuff I'll try to bring things up to date.

When we return to Spain we join a fantastic walking group. Thanks to the efforts of Roger and Bill we have enjoyed multiple scenic hikes in the mountains around Alicante. Their frequent scouting walks have helped them to organize many wonderful circular routes that allow us unbelievable views and some good exercise as well. Today's walk was double the effort and just as much fun! We walked on ...

... the ridges. We could see some signs of the recent rainfall, there was some erosion and a few puddles of water...generally a rare sight in this part of Spain. Eventually we came to an old ruin where we stopped for lunch. Then we finished our hike, climbing back along the side of the ridge to complete the circle and return to our cars.

It was a great way to restart our walking program. Here are some photos of the day.

If you've been following our blog you know we've been away for a "health retreat". We traveled to Benissa, Spain, just 45 minutes north of our home in the mountains overlooking Calp.

We stayed at the Obsidian Wellness Center. One of our hiking friends here in Campello has stayed there before and told us about it.

We called to ask if they had availability at short notice and were able to book our stay. ...
