I could choose to be annoyed or I could just use it as a time to relax! I had full battery on my phone and iPad so I sat and read my book and listened to music! We trekked down the huge cliff face to the sea side piers to do a spot of sun bathing. It was a new experience hiring loungers on a pier they cram them in so close you can hardly get into them but It was great, we swam and lounged for a couple of hours the water was crystal clear and so refreshing.

After we headed ...

... thing you notice upon entering the ancient city, is that Mount Vesuvius is visible from every point in the city. And at the time when it erupted, it was believed to have been twice its current height! As we walked through the ancient city, we stopped first at the opera house. Some of the marble steps and seats are still there, and the rest has been reconstructed, and remnants of the stage were still visible, so that if you use a little imagination you can picture ...
