Assisi–Pompeii–Naples. Overnight Cruise To Palermo.

7.30 let, walked back down the hill to the bus, drove past fields of sunflowers, maize & solar panels, after 2 hours stopped for a comfort stop & snack

Drove past Monte Cassino, this area was completely destroyed during WW11 & large amount of allied troops lost their lives in the area, this is where St Benedict was guided by 3 ravens to the area to start ...

In the stones, you could see indentions from where the carriages wore a path into the road. They also had elevated stepping stones for people to use when the road was wet so that they wouldn’t have to get their sandals or bottoms of their robes wet.
