    ... had candied ginger in it. All delicious! We visited the church of Santa Maria del Fiore (with the famous Duomo) and were pleased to find the lineup was non-existent.     ... It was quite warm by that time of the day so we drove home, got coffee/petrol etc and eventually got home to rest.

    ... feeling a lot more like the Asian couple and a clean pair of undies might have come in handy too.

    Needless to say by the time we got back towards the hotel it was an easy decision to grab some takeaway and have an early night. Exhausted but satisfied.

    ... introducing our friends around town!! We finally traveled to Carrara marble caves and experienced inside the actual mountain. Yes this is where the Carrara marble is mined for all the great sculptures of the past & future... unbelievable & absolutely amazing! We can now truly appreciate how marble is extracted & sold before even sculpting begins.
