    ... Italian, were coming over the tannoy about the train arriving at platform 1 and on the electronic board it showed our train with 50' after it, which I took to mean that something to do with the train was 50 feet long.

    ... town to the other. Life is slow and relaxed in Lucca. People take time for the afternoon rest and all is quite. Around four everyone is out and about and it is quite busy on the walking streets.

    We spent time sitting in cafes, drinking wine, watching people, biking, and taking it all in. Katie of course enjoyed gelato here..and even got to sit on a swing while eating.

    ... main piazza in the centre of town before carrying on through the town and out through one of the three gates in the walls. We could have walked to the bottom of our road to watch them as they went past, but it was much better seeing them inside Lucca.
