... staying in the spare room of someones house. These are (surprise surprsise) government monitored, so a local has to properly register and document who is staying. I've read they have to pay whether the room is occupied or not. The casa's are easy enough to spot, with a blue anchor-like symbol on a white background displayed on the front of the house. They are all named Casa Whatever. "Casa" means "house" btw. Most only have one spare room, but some have two three or four. ...
