Friday 29th 2pm. What a lovely surprise to open our stateroom door and find that we have a balcony and a bottle of bubbly on ice waiting to welcome us. We had a lovely leisurely start to the day with breakfast on our roof top terrace. Lovely and warm and still at 9am, plenty of church bells ringing, though we couldn't figure out what time 13 dongs of a bell would signal!

Just up the road turned out to be 5-10 minute walk, up the road and round two corners. We got to the Royal Suite du Vatican hotel up the road and it was really grotty and dark and nothing like the hotel name suggested.
