... Cuban experience. It is one of the largest resort areas in the Caribbean and is full of mad English and Canadian tourists dead set on just partying all day and night. We didn’t see many places playing Cuban music, vintage cars driving around or anything remotely Cuban, except for the awesome 20km stretch of white, sandy beaches, which was the main reason we decided on coming to Varadero.

Finding our casa was an ordeal after the original casa ...

We needed resuscitation after this so sat ...

The first breakfast at the casa particularis here was very good and very large, pancakes with honey, tropical fruit, fruit juice, omelet, cheese and ham and coffee, plus bread we had no space for!
We headed off into the town to buy our bus ticket to Trinidad, exchange some money and find an Internet cafe. It was a nice walk, with a coffee stop along the way as we walked along the palm lined waterfront. The buildings in the town were not quite as grand ...

Sad to be here so quickly but looking forward to being on the road with Wayne again, travelling alone has been great and free but I do want to share it with him. After a big breakfast it is off on foot again to the centro and exploring all the buildings and parks from the mallecon down the harbour side thati glimpsed on a bustrip but needed to explore fully. It is threatening to storm so a cool change to the heat. It starts to rain when ...

... the views. - Palacio de Valle: Lester's dad worked at the big building down on the south point which has a few restaurants and a rooftop terrace and bar. Used to be owned by some rich old guy - usual story. Great views of the bay (pics attached). - Cienfuegos Club: We also went to the Cienfuegos Club, which is like a yacht/rowing club with a marina on the ocean. Nice views from the roof. Can use the pool for $4 - no thanks :p Lester's parents were friends with the ...
