... with a couple of English guys from our hostel and left at 730am from the hostel to get the hike done before the Brazil/Chile game. They had weed to smoke on the journey, which worked well. First stop, was a natural pool, where you could view a rock jump, from a suspension bridge. Started sunny and warm but then ran into low cloud as we descended the coastal range and through the Mata Atlantica (coastal rainforest) to the resort of Caraguatatuba where we had a salad lunch besides the beach. This was 2.5 hours south of Paraty.

... Here the waterfalls and rock have conspired to make a natural water-slide. After watching the locals fling themselves down Michael made his way up and once at the front of the queue was swung down by some of the professional sliders, crashing down into the pools at the bottom. A carefree hour or two followed, although neither of us got anywhere near the skills of the local youths, one of whom flew down repeatedly while standing. Impressive skills indeed!
