... right amount of information to give and moved along at a good pace without rushing.
Later we wandered around ourselves. It is amazing how they have excavated under 25 metres of mud to find this city. What you see is what they found.
There is more, even the remains of a theatre, but it is beneath the present day buildings!

... this car maybe a hundred feet from the petrol station, but we couldn't see anyone in the car so we just kept on going. Well, that turned out to be him. Why he just didn't walk up to the petrol station and ask for someone to help him is beyond me! I think he was scared to go and ask because he didn't know Italian. Here is an unique archeological wonder cover 6th century BC to 18th century AD under the city. Regretably most of the descriptive material was in Italian, not our best language (zilch). So we probably missed a lot but got the gist of it we think.

So we got on our train to Rome and our plan is to stay there tonight, fly to Thessaloniki, Greece tomorrow morning and take a train from there to Athens.
