We enjoyed a water taxi ride from our hotel back door, though the canal system to the Cruise Terminal in order to board the Nieuw Amsterdam at 2pm and then set sail at 4pm, 11 July 2014 towards Katakolon, Greece (which is close to the Ancient city of Olympia).

Some might say we wasted a day in Venice today....I would say I spent a day in paradise with a little explorer.
We played, swam, chased lizards, played with dogs, (of course) ate cold pizza and rested.
To summarize, we didn't leave our little house today!

This morning we caught the slow vaporetto which goes the length of the Grand Canal, then came back on it and got off at the Rialto Bridge, then walked and walked. We stopped in at San Salvador's church, which was cool and quiet and calm, after all the jostling outside, even though it wasn't very busy.

They tried to sell us some expensive glass but we quickly found the exit and began exploring for the day.
