... of French soldiers were present tonight and played a minor role during the service. Each night has been different but very moving on every occasion. I am pleased we left our warm room to attend this service each of the three nights we have been in Ieper. Ate at a cafe across the square from Old Tom. Made the mistake of having soup and a main meal and so could not finish our dishes. Had a pleasant chat with three English ladies and then headed for the hotel about 22.15. ... hemos recorrido 7 países, más de 15 ciudades, y el otro día pensábamos en cuántos kilómetros hemos caminado...no lo sabemos con certeza, pero creemos que vamos en los tres maratones (120 km).

The two creepy boys (I expect they are lovely but they clearly spend a lot of time in this dark, slightly dated hotel) were at the back door of the hotel when we unloaded and just stared at me for a bit before walking off.
