Belgium is a favourite so far! The town is beautiful - feels like we're in a storybook. Poppies are everywhere. There is evidence all over town of John McCrae's poem. Today we had a few hours of free time so Josh and I took in the Flander's Field Museum and sought out some Belgian chocolate - so good! The museum was fantastic - provided the stories of many nations and individuals involved in the war effort. ...

Although I am a little grumpy from my cold toes and one pair of jeans that are never quite dry, I can't deny that even in the rain, the medieval town of Bruges is charming, romantic and probably the most adorable place I have visited.

As I wall through the perfectly preserved and manicured medieval town I am struck by how very spoiled I have been so far. It is extraordinarily beautiful. I had heard so much of the beauty of Brugge, the fairytale medieval city. And it is.
