... few stores for local consumption like the bakery and supermarket (and when I say supermarket in mean the corner shop kind), but it obviously had enough goods to satisfy the small permanent population. The Cinque Terra refers to five towns along a 12 km strip of Italian coastline. The towns are small, quaint, built on vertical hillsides and just beautiful. The houses were built close together on steep terrain, making the towns quite in-accessable from the outside and hence preserving their way of life until the advent of tourism and Rick Steves. ... tasting. We had some delicious bruschetta and pasta for lunch, as well as trying a few wines which were also quite nice. Nico tried to set me up with Laura (she was gorgeous) however I chickened out and jumped in the van before he had the chance! I bought some Limoncello to have at the next few places, as it is really good for digestion, not to mention it tastes delicious.

We continued on towards the town of San Gimignano where there is a shop that won best gelato ...
