      ... being such hard work. Still it was fun and the lunch was amazing. Prosciutto, sausage, cheese, fennel, garlic bread soaked in oil, wine, a Pinenut torte for dessert, and sweet caffe. (See pictures.)

      For dinner we went to Manzi, a nearby town, for pizza with Giovanni, Rosetta, Silvia, and Sergio. There was lively conversation, I assume. If I keep coming back, I really have to leave the language.

      The weather is iffy today, but the leaves ...

      ... stew, which was so think and rich, my mum had a beautiful piece of veal, and I had homemade flat pasta with wild boar meat sauce- just perfect.

      After we checked in we drove into the biggest village nearby - Greve on Chianti - what a great town. Probably the highlight was going into this most amazing butchers shop, well if you can call it that- it-has been running since 1729. Complete with an underground cheese shop, multiple cold hams hanging ...

      ... ll see cars, trucks and busses straddling two lanes. The worst part is when they move across lanes with no warning just as you’re passing them. I would have taken some pictures of it happening just in front of us, but I’ve usually either got my eyes closed or I’m trying frantically to work out how to slow down quickly without the idiot in a BMW who is only 2 metres off my rear bumper from ending up in our back seat.

      ... in Italy we've gotten so far has been handmade, and even something simple like spaghetti with meat sauce is amazing. Maybe our exhaustion from biking all morning had something to do with how good it was too (Remember when we used to run and be in shape? Not any more!). I have not seen a quote yet, ok they don't do quotes in this country, fingers crossed.
