      ... beat me at the Pirate course in Porirua!

      It was pretty late but that stage and we were all peckish so we went into the clubhouse to use their opulent bathrooms (complete with luxurious, branded paper towels) and have some dinner in the restaurant. The prices were far cheaper than we were expecting and the food was tasty. A few Hendrick's to wash it all down just for good measure.       Unfortunately for me, a couple came in to the pub wanting lunch, and as I had finished my beer, there was no excuse to stay, so I set off down the hill toward Guardbridge. Before long, we come, inevitably, to a golf course, and the path gets compressed between a wall and the cliff.... the only signage is a sign pointing up to the golf course saying "To the Main Road" which is clearly not the one we want, and one along the line of the cliffs saying "Please use the Coastal Path as directed," and a big arrow pointing left, so obviously we follow the path the the left... where it gets narrower, ...
