It was pretty late but that stage and we were all peckish so we went into the clubhouse to use their opulent bathrooms (complete with luxurious, branded paper towels) and have some dinner in the restaurant. The prices were far cheaper than we were expecting and the food was tasty. A few Hendrick's to wash it all down just for good measure. There was a group of very sunburnt Germans next to us who had obviously been playing ...

Unfortunately for me, a couple came in to the pub wanting lunch, and as I had finished my beer, there was no excuse to stay, so I set off down the hill toward Guardbridge. As before this was uncomfortable walking particularly as the verges were very high, so I set out along the edge of a newly planted field, guiltily stamping on the tender green shoots of winter wheat along the way.
