After yesterday cruising on the Queen Mary 2 today we are visiting Brugge and the Xmas Markets. Yesterday we explored the ship including shuffleboard and swimming, albeit in the indoor pool. Our stateroom is pretty roomy and the meals in the restaurant have been lovely. Today there is a lot of frost on the ground in Brugge and it's very chilly. Tonight we are visiting the Planetarium onboard and sailing back to ...

The morning bike ride was absolutely lovely...riding through farm country and small back roads. After a nice ride through some farm areas, first break was at a place that was where a person had a hunting lodge. As we were walking, we were interrupted by a police lock down of a floor that we had to be on as there was a mysterious abandoned suit case. (We were to later discover that a lady had simply forgotten it and claimed it fifteen minutes later.)

... we got into town there was some nice architecture but we struggled to nail the transport system. We got lost a few times in trying to get to some sights and were just a bit over what we had seen. Luckily upon arriving in Bruges (1hr train away) we were pleasantly surprised. A smaller town with much more. Great hotel 5 mins walk to the city centre, cobble stone streets, shops and lots of beer, chocolate and waffles. We jam packed ...

... next train was in a half hour. The train ride was only about an hour which was super awesome.

There was an info center in the train station so we grabbed a map and hiked it to the town center. It didn't take too long. Last night I had promised myself that I would talk to the next "American" English I heard so I did that on the walk into town. We met two girls from Oregon who were there for Spring break. They were about to leave but gave us a few tips about Brugge that ...
