Bit of an overcast day in Bruges, but doesn't look like it is going to rain (knock on wood) and brought my rain coat, so not too worried. Head out of the train station, in the direction that seemingly everyone is going. Have a nice little map from Rick Steves, as well as my iPhone, so not too worried about getting lost. The plan is to head into the center of the city and follow ...

But first we had breakfast courtesy of the Saturday market in Ypres - waffles for Jude and pancakes for me, followed by coffee. I asked for a moca as advertised on the menu at the cafe and was told it wasn't a Moca as I knew it, but ...

Bruges is one big fools’ house!”. This ...

... market squares. Towers or spires abound to create an interesting skyline and the many canals that weave their way through this city that is sometimes referred to as the Venice of the North, complete the fairy tale feel of this magic town. I think I'm running out of superlatives! It is little wonder that the historic centre of Bruges is a UNESCO World heritage site.

We are staying at a well located little apartment just off the Markt - one of ...

        ... meeting you all!:)

Here's the fun part - nawt.. I know nothing about airports and how they work. I arrived at Hethrow airport around 11:30. Basically everything was closed, accept a little coffee shop upstairs in the Terminal. So I sat there and slept on a stool for 6 hours. It was the worst. Finally, at 5:45am things opened, so I was able to go into the Duty Free zone, and not be so sketched out. And now I'm on the plane. About to watch ...
