... the surrounding buildings and plays wonderful music from its carillons every 15 minutes. Every 2 years, the music changes. There are also free carillon concerts but those don't start until the middle of June so I will miss out on that. It’s 366 stairs to the top of the Belfry and the view is worth the climb. I got there before 9:30 so I could be one of the first people in line. They only allow 70 up at a time so later in the day you could ...

To reduce vibration and noise interference from the street and underground car park, the building is built on 4000 sets of metal coils. We headed off into the town to see what we could see. We passed through the middle-eastern area we ate at last night ...

... to the city and an information and ticketing counter to get you on your way. To get to Bruges we had one change at Brussells north, and then it was an hour from there.

Brussells city has some quite grotty parts not far from the posh political center. The scenery towards Bruges got nicer the closer we got and looked more and more dutch - but of course its Flemish here. Facinating to see huge white, black and white, and blue roan coloured ...

... Heidelberg we hit the road to Burg Eltz Castle further north. Instead of the Autobahn we opted for driving up the Rhine (Rhein) River, which has the most castles in a single area in the world. And yes- we saw tons!! Just hanging out above the river. A very beautiful drive. We happened on a small village called St. Goar and found an old castle ruin. It was open to the public for paid self-tours. It was so cool because you got to ...
