Another early start as we had to get through a tunnel before they closed it for road works. So we were on the bus at 7.45 for the shortish trip to Venice where we arrived at around 10.30. At the same time back home the mighty Rabbitohs were taking on the Bulldogs in the NRL grand final, so I was keeping one eye on the phone for the score updates while we visited a glass foundry and showroom, where we saw some glass making and then it was into the showroom for the ...

We had a leisurely start to the day, our bags had to be out to be collected by the porter by 9.30am. Our private water taxi was collecting us at 10.25 for our transfer to the airport. We also had to bid farewell to Sam and Lisa, we have had lots of fun and ...

We cruise in and the ship is taller than the building skyline so quite impressive, we were up stairs in the full sun at the front but unfortunately it got too hot for us two so we took shelter on ...

... with vines so we must be in Italy. Yet another language to learn.

Our hostel is indeed a pimped out tent. All for €7 per night so we are really splashing out. I am chuffed to see it also has a very nice pool. After relaxing by the pool and dinner it is rather late.

    Ciao for ...

... the intent is pretty amazing. Across the bottom of each ramp it says, “Venezia Accessibile,” and then in English, “Accessible Venice.” Remember Fiaba Day in Rome? I think it’s wonderful that Italy wants to make this magnificent place accessible to everyone.

The walk took me all the way down to Giardini Pubblici. About half way there I passed an area that was being set up for the Venice Marathon, scheduled for tomorrow. ...
