... to me so it was nice to hang round with someone who is.

We saw a glass blowing show which was amazing! The guy made a horse!!!! We also went to the funniest restaurant! This hot Italian waiter was the worst waiter you will ever see. He took forever to serve. He was perfectly polite and didn't seem too busy but he just had all the time in the world. A good example of this was that when he asked us to choose our gelato flavours at the counter; we waited 20 mins before we ...

We walked to a Traghetti station ...

... hope we came out somewhere we recognized. Gondolas everywhere. Almost a traffic jam of them. We are riding a gondola tomorrow as well as take the regular boats up the canal and to neighboring islands. Enjoy the pictures and videos below. Sandy's view - Bone tired, and we have a week to go! I agree with everything Bear said above! I did cry when I got my first sight of Venice. It is unbelievably beautiful, and I have to keep pinching myself to remind me this is real! Love ...

... waterway connects to the Grand Canal, which lies about 50 metres from our window. We spent the morning today at the Palazzo Ducale, the former seat of government for what was the Republic of Venice and the home of their supreme leader the Doge until Napolean added this place to his list of conquests. Of course he eventually had to give everything back, but that was that for hundreds of years of Venice calling its own shots. The Palazzo is remarkable, ...
