... We enjoyed delicious lasagna and tiramisu. We then walked back to the water taxi and Jill grabbed two small paintings from a local artist and had enough time (before catching up with the group) to take his picture. Near the bus, Sally grabbed a final couple of souveniers from Italy and we boarded the bus to get back to the hotel which was an hour and a half away!

Now about Lake Bled. It is unique in that it has an island. So what you say? There are islands everywhere. Not so, at least not in Slovenia. If you google "Islands of Slovenia" and pull up Wikipedia you will see there are so few that they actually list them and there are only five, plus two ex-islands. (Really? Like really? ... and even in the tourist haunts they seem to maintain a sense of self. The paint peels more in venice and prague than in Paris, and true romance also peels a little in the dark corners, just nobody likes to admit it. It does just make the postcard scenery all the more beautiful. I was worried that venice wouldn't be as romantic the second time around, or that Katrina wouldn't be as taken with it as I was. Luckily neither of these things were true - it was just as magical the ...

... a charm bracelet for all of my travels! That evening, all the men in our group threw a Valentine’s extravaganza, where we all sat on the rooftop of our hotel, toasting with various wines, and enjoying the warm Florence evening in lovely company. Danny and I went out with the group that night (to all of their bewilderment and amazement) and decided almost immediately that we had made a terrible decision. We ended up in some club, after an hour of aimless wandering, ...
