... the rooftop. Here we took in some of the most incredible views of the island from above its terracotta rooftops! We could also see Doge's Palace from the exterior. It looked like renovations were taking place inside.

It is hard to enjoy Vencie when it is crowded. Too narrow, too many people, too many trinket shops and too many hawkers selling selfie sticks and glow toys! The whole city had fireworks going off and we were able to see them from our apartment. The next day we left Italy for Tramayes, ...

Last night was restless. I shouldn't read halloween scary things prior to bed in a new location in a small Italian town. It comforted me a bit that the doors locked and I grabbed a frying pan to have next to my side. Paola drove us to the train station at 10. The train was packed so we stood the 30min ride to Venice. We organized tomorrow's reservations then explored the city. Venice is just as awesome as I remember. I love getting wonderfully lost ...

... we were to make the camping ground before it’s mid-day closure we would unhitch the car and drive the vehicles individually. The cops came back with a change of mind and decided not to fine us. We informed them of our intentions and they were quite happy with that and shook our hands and departed. They didn’t even ask to see my licence! We had gathered quite an audience by this stage who continued ...
