Day 40 - Murano Island Venice

A travel blog entry by ttdaniel on Sep 27, 2014

... night. We went to a little bakery to get a snack and the owner gave me a free cookie! We then explored the small island of Murano which is known for its beautiful glassware. We bought a couple of things and then went back to the hotel to get ready for dinner. For dinner we went to a gorgeous little restaurant on the waterfront for a delicious alacarte seafood dinner. After a wonderful meal we walked back to the hotel.

The option is to take a water taxi which is a long, sleek inboard boat. They ...

Today we took a high speed train from Rome to Venice. The countryside was so beautiful I felt like I was in a picture. I kept telling mom the train could just drop me off anywhere out there. The train was very nice, clean, brand new, and easier then we expected. The best part is they are on time! We pulled out of the station exactly at 9:25 am when we were supposed to. I am a little disappointed about Venice. True, it is ...

... to the Rialto Bridge and/or St. Mark’s Square!! Laura had told me that there were supermarkets in both directions on the main street near my apartment, so I turned right. First impressions: the shopping is amazing, store after store with beautiful displays; there were a lot of people out and about even in this supposedly quieter area of Venice (Cannaregio District)! I went over two bridges without finding the supermarket so I turned around and tried the other ...
