Chillier today than it has been so far, but it's expected to warm us nicely later in the afternoon. We meet in front of our hotel, which is a family run hotel that was built in 1907. We stroll down to the dock to board a water taxi to go to Guidecca Island to see a glass blowing demonstration. We pass the hotel where George Clooney stayed during his recent wedding. Rooms here go for 630 euros per night, well over $800 US dollars.

Train down to Venice. Leaving Feltre the train followed the valley floor, usually adjacent to the river, and where there was no land to spare, through tunnels. When we arrived in Venice it was beautiful. I loved the view we had of the water. For the first hour or two we walked around and enjoyed ourselves and Venice. We went to Sand Marcos Square and took our time getting there. The Square was pretty cool. We stayed at the square for a few hours to look around and shop. I thought Venice was very different then Rome or Florence, but it ...

... we should actually queue up for- well worth it! The cathedral itself was beautiful- gold mosaics, large sculptures and we climbed the stairs to the balcony for great views of the square and neighboring clock tower.

After this and slightly sick of all the people, we jumped on another boat and headed to Murano, a small island about 15 minutes from St Marks Square and famous for it's glass making. We arrived here after most of the shops and factories ...
