So we are back from our trip to Verona, Venice, and Bergamo. This was an awesome trip! We began with a stop in Verona to see Giulietta's balcony. Holly thought that this would be a great idea to bring Juliet there. We didn't quite get her on the balcony, but close. Our highlight was definitely the Arena. Construction of this structure began in the 1st century. From here we went to stay in ...

... a bed bug before so when we checked we looked for any sort of bugs we could find. Nic showed a video of a bug on Joels bed bigger than my thumb nail. We all got up and Nic helped to check our rooms once more. Thankfully he found nothing. We went to the guys room to check out the bugs. 4 rooms in total had the bugs so far. What I saw on the sheets amongst tick looking like insects the size of half my pinky nail were also what looked like fleas. The guys were given another ...

... one, only about 2 hours with stops.

In Florence, we found our condo, just a stone's throw from the train station, and spent a few hours relaxing and researching our options for the next week.

We found a great restaurant (Italian!) for supper, and plan on buying food at a fresh market tomorrow. Eating out so often has been a little ******* the budget, and my stash of Clif Bars suffered a hit in Switzerland, lol.

... a killer here in Summer). Venice has a great vibe and I feel quite safe and comfortable. We walked along the waterfront, looked at the markets and people. From here we decided to go to our dinner reservation (made by our cute concierge Bruno - so Italian) at Al Giardinetto. My personal guide, Darren back on his game naviagated us successfully to our destination. Great little pllace or rather deceptively big. The entrance was tiny but then you walked through to ...

After agreeing that San Giminiano was our favourite place we had visited on this trip, Venice was going to have a lot to live up to.
But what a magical city it is. The canals are just so very "pretty" and just how you imagine from movies and book!
It's definitely an expensive city, but of you know where to go AND if you learn some local Venetian dialect, you can get a "shade" of wine for under €0.80
