... just as you would imagine them and water taxis, vaporetto, gondolas abound. It is very picturesque and the accompanying weather highlighted the city's unique features.
Over the Rialto, through even more maze-like alleys and finally we ventured into St Mark's which was surprisingly not overcrowded. The views across the square and down to the lagoon are very different from anywhere else in the world. Our stay was brief since we knew we would be back again very soon. ...

... courgette, peppers and tomatos. We left feeling rather full and wandered back through the deserted streets and over the small bridges back to the hotel. Such a great day! Sunday 1 March 2015 A bit of a lie in today and after some breakfast, we headed outside. The weather wasn't as good today - cloudy. Apologies in advance for the intensive explosion of blogs that this country is going to inspire. It's not my fault that there is so much famous old stuff just lying around so close together. Last day tomorrow. Hard to believe it is here already! Tomorrow’s day is revealed and we are going to take a cooking class from one of Rome’s Cooking Channel stars including shopping in the market etc. Very excited about this but another early start… which I could have done without! Best part? Internet Again! Let the uploading begin!

    With a whole day ahead
of us and the new found knowledge that Venice is not a huge city, we
knew we would be having a fairly relaxed day wandering the streets
and sitting in bars. We caught a vaporetto as far as the Rialto
Bridge and then set about visiting a number of sights, roaming the
streets and browsing in shops. The Rialto Bridge itself was one of
the highlights, with three routes over ...
