... off at Burano twice and if we'd waited one more stop we'd have got back to Venice. It was a long journey home. At last however we got back and I was so hungry that I ate a whole pizza plus chips, probably my greatest gastronomical achievement to date. This gave me enough energy to walk to the Rialto bridge to see it lit up at night and then jump on a water bus to have a look around St Marc's square. It was a great evening and the best way to spend our final one in ...

... ankle-deep water! It was crazy! We had to take our shoes off and wade ourselves through to get to the other side and continue on our journey in the direction of our room. The was a really long queue of people lining up to gain entrance to one of the museums that was partly underwater. If we had've had more time, we would've liked to check it out.

We feel so pampered! Today we walked around ...

Ok so now that I decided not posting ever minute is easier and I feel relieved. Let's see, last I think I was in Rome. Rome has so much history it was fun to learn about all the ruins and the Vatican of course. We had a very awesome tour of the Vatican where I got to see Michelangelo's Sistine chapel so I was a very happy camper. Then we found out the next day the pope would be in town so we somehow got the free tickets ...

... with beams you have to duck under. Baffled tourists holding maps at 60 degree angles were everywhere. Still, a beautiful way to get lost.
We found a little cafe in one of these alleys and enjoyed delicious Italian pizza, lemon soda and espresso for lunch in the pleasant shade for before continuing on.
Crossing over the Grand Canal via Rialto bridge was somewhat of a challenge with the bridge being chock-full of selfie-taking tourists, ...
