... mains!!!! First can out a risotto that they presented with a shell that they lit on fire. They turned the lights of when putting them onto the table and it just brought the vibe up even more in the restaurant. We then got a plate of gnocchi. ... city we were going to go to! So off to Venice we went on the start of our 10 day adventure! It was going to be packed with many activities!
We arrived in Venice on Friday night, and found our way to our hostel. It was this camping type place that I could imagine would be very busy in the summer! It took us a while to find it, turns out it is hard to find a place when you get off at the wrong bus stop..... but the next morning we were ready to head ...

... signs", and thoroughfares change names when they cross bridges (of which there are multitudes) or pass thru a square or past a church. Even with a map it's almost impossible to get anywhere without getting lost, hitting dead ends, and getting completely frustrated! I'd say the most recognizable sight in Venice is people with maps, sitting down anywhere they can find, trying to figure out where they are on the map....oh, and frustrated people walking off from whoever they are traveling ...

... There were 8 adults and two children, one of them a one year old. Needless to say, it was a hectic journey. We drove from Belgium to Germany (where my aunt and uncle live). Stayed there for a few hours while my family unpacked and repacked, then we flew to Italy. The whole situation reminded me so much of home alone. You know, in the beginning of the movie, when everyone is rushing around the house, trying to get things done, shouting to each other from different rooms, etc. ...
