... and calming (until the gondola operator rocked the boat on purpose to freak us out). Otherwise I just went shopping and ate pizza! My new personal favourites are aranccini balls because they are so yummy and really cheap! We are staying in a nice actual hotel during our Venice visit which is amazing. We have a little TV, so in the background while we have been repacking we've seen the hostage situation in Sydney come to an end via the BBC. I can't believe that ...

It’s easy to get lost in all the little streets of Venice so it as good to be guided and to get out of the crowd. We walked past the hospital of Venice; it’s a grand looking building and of course, the ambulances’ are boats. ...

... No sooner had we sat down when there was a load bang, an explosion. From where Dar sat, he had a perfect view... a small boat was about 100 yards from the shore of an uninhabited island and it had a terrible explosion...smoke was billowing. It didn't take long for two small boats to get to then 3 people were standing on it but it was on fire. From our vantage point, it looked like they got the fire out ...
