... The tour took us out of the touristy areas to areas of Venice where the locals live. We went to four bars had wonderful cicchetti offerings and a glass of wine at each, great fun and nice to see Venice without the hoards of folks.

... me they're closed. Turns out Manayach misread the time. But, no fear! There's still the VENDING MACHINES!! Surely we can put together a healthy dinner from the vending machines!! So that night, dinner consisted of two varieties of potato chips, some sort of cracker type things, several chocolate bars, and two Powerades. (We both knew that sort of thing was bound to happen eventually on a trip with just the two of us.) I promise it won't happen again, Mom.

... walked around three of the sides of the square, looking in all the shops around there. Some are up market touristy stuff while others have the mos fabulous diamonds, emerald, rubies and watches that I've ever seen. Probably get really nabbed for taking photos of these. ... We even passed underneath the Bridge of Sighs which was quite a sight within reach! The atmosphere was pleasantly relaxing. So, how romantic can this be! The only thing missing was the gondolier's singing….and this, he didn’t want to do it!
