    Today we drove through the center of the park. We did a short trail walk in the afternoon and then headed to Clingman's dome (6643ft high) for sunset - around 5:30.     ... we had to cross the creek where Sassafras Creek flows into Snowbird Creek and turned right at the split to stay on Big Snowbird Trail.
