C'est une petite ville encore fortifier, construite sur une tres ancienne ville creuse a meme la coline. il y a une grosse cathedrale (duomo) comme toutes les villes que nous avons vue, puis il y a plusieur point de vue sur la region.

We ended up in Orvieto sa we saw a friends photos of the catherdral and thought it was a must see. The cathedral was like a mini Florence Duomo, but 100% cleaner as the one in Florence is nearly black on the outside with pollution. The front facade on the cathedral is covered in beautiful gold leaf frescos that were glittering in the afternoon sunshine. Had a wander through the old town which was full of life as ...

Wednesday, We are alone in an Italian villa. It was magical. We slept in and then had breakfast on the veranda.
I made a picnic lunch out of the things we bought yesterday and feeling very brave we drove to Pettino. It is a small mountain village about a half an hour away from M & J's house. Reaching Pettino, we blinked and were out of town. Turning around and heading back down the hill to find a place ...

Mike makes lunch from fresh eggplant and tomatoes, fresh from the garden and turkey breast. We sat on the veranda and chatted until it is time for them to leave for NY.

... Angelo...which was great because I had never walked in that area, much less at night. It was stunning. Liz and I took pictures of us gazing longinly into each other's eyes with the moonlight in the background standing on the bridge over the Tiber River. Magical. Oh, and the place is absolutely overrun with Germans right now. They're here for some conference or something. And they're kind of obnoxious. Rome was much nicer in June. But it's still pretty bloody sweet!!
Roma, Italy cpaverill... required a certain substance known to the English-speaking populace as laundry degergent. As I entered the supermercato (conveniently located across the street in S. Maria Maggiore piazza, I realized that I had no idea what to buy. Food in Italian is just food with packaging in a different language. You pretty much know what you're going to get. But there are two full rows of various laundry products and we all know how one little thing can make ...
Roma, Italy cpaverill... provided by hares, that on two occasions emerged from the forest to sit out on the road. They seem to have an evil sense of timing. Each time I would stop, hop out of the car, take lense cap off, open up the menu to select digital magnification, set, take aim, ......and they would hop back into the forest. I kept stopping as I came down the mountain toward Assisi, for some good photographs of both Roccas. We finally set off for Nani at 9.00, driving on the motorway toward ...
