Hi all,
We are now in Chiang Rai and have had an amazing time.
On the way to Chiang Rai we stopped at a geyzer which was amazing to see and also saw the White Temple, it is absolutely stunning.
Our first night here we stayed in a nice hotel which was a treat (Wiang Inn Hotel).

I was headed to Jinghong, China, and I wanted to avoid going thru Lao, again (another 35$ visa, and a precious page in my passport!) and I had heard about a boat trip that goes up the Mekong River from Chiang Saen to Jinghong circumnavigating the visa for Lao, since it never touches Lao banks.

Last stop in Thailand - but what a stop
We got the public bus and it turned out to be better than any of the tourist buses we had gotten. They had an Air steward (or rather a bus steward). Exploring the city
Today was a sightseeing day. It was nice getting out and seeing more of the city where I live. We went to see the White Temple, so beautiful! It was very bright and detailed. I got to sign and hang a silver charm on the good luck sturcture...very cool.
When we went out to dinner, we had pizza :)
