Hello Everyone!!! On to our adventures of Island Hopping - our first Island is Brac. To get there we have to take a ferry from Split which takes an hour and then a bus through the middle of nowhere, climbing hills and going round corners which just lead to drops down cliff edges..............but when we get there the place where we are staying we are not disappointed!! A little place called Bol, it is one of the Oldest towns on the Island of Brac. We are greeted from the bus by the owner of o...

Caught bus from Plitvice Jezera to Split and got in about 7pm. Found Situs Hostel no problem (once we actually followed the instructions properly) and it's a really cool, clean, nice small hostel. Peter was really helpful in pointing out things to do and see and eat. Peter's mum was awesome too making us coffee in the ...
... about to watch our second sunset here-it truly is a highlight so far for us. Originally we were only going to stay one night and drive into Split today, but the beauty of having Fred means that is we like a place, we can stay longer :) Our third campsite in Croatia is by far the best; I had to really force myself away from doing nothing to write this! Although I have to admit that I have a million dollar view while writing it :)
Seget Vranjica, Splitsko-Dalmatinska, Croatia armajor7... pour rain! Well we just had one day on Bol and I really wanted to see Croatia's sexiest beach. We sat at the café for quite a while, hoping the rain would end. At one point the rain had lightened up and we decided to make a break for it back to our apartment. The rain was actually very light and we did not even have to run.
We ended up spending the morning in the apartment playing cards, looking at ...
... also noted for his persecution of early Christians. After Diocletian’s death, the palace was used as a retreat by other Roman rulers.
Politically and geographically, Croatia has always been at the junction of the Western Roman and Eastern Byzantine Empires, and was frequently a region in conflict. When the Roman Empire was divided in 395 AD, Dalmatia was split in two. Present day Slovenia, Croatia, and Bosnia-Herzegovina remained with the Western Roman Empire ...
... in great detail his projects and their difficulties. "Look here, I had to make another cut to make this piece fit". When he finished talking of his work he would blast the lameness of contractors and the poor quality of their work. I felt two things: One was that some things truly crossed borders and two that I had taken many of my friends on similar tours and I now wonder if they might have been a tad too long. To this end I sincerely apologize to all of those ...
Bol, Croatia fezmonkey... yeah dosent mean much. Then you see what he was like. Very sad. I sat on the dock of the bay and read up on future places to go. In the arvo i followed the coast around. Went for a swim in a place called Bacvice where it seemed everyone when to swim. Was embarrassed about all the scars i have so jumped in the water quickly then jumped out. Am a bit scared of the waters here. Lots of shells and stuff to cut your feet on. I met a guy Salzburg who had to get 15 stiches after ...

Bol, Croatia natedawg... pictures of lodging, or anything. This friendly fellow on the bench by the map said to me "Are you looking for lodging? Over there there is lodging" And that was all. I was a little confused, not really sure what he meant since he didn't point anywhere or really look anywhere, so I went back to get my pack and grab nathan to head off in some general direction. Then our bench friend stood up, and started walking down the street. A few steps away he stopped ...
Bol, Croatia dangerchristoph... outcrops because there is no sand in Croatia! The old town Dubrovnik is beautiful, castle area situated on the waters edge, steep drop offs into the beautiful clear water make it the perfect place to kick back and have afew drinks in one of the bars, which I was lucky enough to do with Tullia and Alexandra (who I met in Sarajevo). The food here is predominantly Italian - lots of Pasta, Pizza, Olives, Tomatoes (I swear the biggest and reddest ...
