a very well appointed guest house with a pool and spa. The ground of the facility are immaculate and Maarten and Carla are excellent hosts. I would highly recommend their gust house if you are in the area or traveling the garden route as we are.

However, we enjoyed the cheese and bread more than the wine itself. Everyone reading this blog are aware that Tom and I are not big wine drinkers so it was no surprise that after the tasting session I had the munchies, ...

I decided to take Route 62 to Cape Town and stay over at the "Warmwaterberg Spa" on a friend's recommendation. I have not slept in a caravan in 20 years. It is not expensive either and the spa water is around 40 Deg C. I stopped at Ronnie's Sex Shop just down the road. Really just a bar with a reputation, judging by the lingerie stapled to the ceiling. The scenery between Barrydale and Robertson is really pretty and a must ...

In 1743 Swellendam was declared a magisterial district, the fourth oldest in South Africa. This outlying settlement soon became ...
