a very well appointed guest house with a pool and spa. The ground of the facility are immaculate and Maarten and Carla are excellent hosts. I would highly recommend their gust house if you are in the area or traveling the garden route as we are.

... before we headed out to drive to Knysna, we took in the reason for staying in Swellendam. The Drosty Museum complex is a group of mainly original Cape Dutch buildings that have been maintained in their 17th and 18th century character. The displays of furniture and other donated items from the area make these buildings very interesting. There is not much else in the little town so we packed up our car and headed ...

When we arrived at Warmwaterberg, we spent the night in a 60’s style caravan - you have to see the photos! It was like travelling back in time, with the floral curtains and dated fittings! The seals in the windows were not quite as they used to be, however we put it down to natural ventilation. :)

We didn’t get into the hot baths until ...

The photos partially show you what is in the shop. Signed underwear hangs from the ceilings and walls. We were not sure if they were clean before being hung up but they were pretty dusty when we saw them.

So he had collections of every size of bras and underpants, mens' and womens' but he had so many other collections - teddy bears, clown wigs, flags, ball caps. Every wall in the ...

    Setting off again we
passed several old cottages which reminded me of Rabbie Burns
cottage. The difference here was that they were old fishermens
cottages. Driving on a bit further we then passed a few road signs
indicating beware of tortoise. Thats different. As we then drove on

Montagu was more of a quaint village and we stopped off at the dried fruit factory and drove around a bit. We had been advised to explore the adjacent towns of Robertson and Bonnievale. However, we found these a bit boring and there was nothing to see. It was the surrounding landscape and vineyards that were beautiful. As we were in wine country, we decided to do a wine tasting session. Tom ordered the wine ...
