a very well appointed guest house with a pool and spa. The ground of the facility are immaculate and Maarten and Carla are excellent hosts. I would highly recommend their gust house if you are in the area or traveling the garden route as we are.

This morning saw us up early to pack up our belongings, have breakfast, and begin our trip eastward. Paul, our guide yesterday, had given us great instructions on how to get out of Cape Town. We got onto the N2 highway and went to Somerset West and off at Strand, driving to Gordon's Bay where we drove along the coast to Hermanus where we stopped for lunch. ... before we headed out to drive to Knysna, we took in the reason for staying in Swellendam. The Drosty Museum complex is a group of mainly original Cape Dutch buildings that have been maintained in their 17th and 18th century character. The displays of furniture and other donated items from the area make these buildings very interesting. There is not much else in the little town so we packed up our car and headed ...

... morning before breakfast, and it took me a few minutes to get into the 40+ degree temperatures. We got chatting to a few of the other bathers and I challenged a kid to jump into the adjacent cold swimming pool which he did… and realised that it was only fair that I did it too. FREEZING!!! Jumping in a cold pool is hard enough as it is. However ...

The photos partially show you what is in the shop. Signed underwear hangs from the ceilings and walls. We were not sure if they were clean before being hung up but they were pretty dusty when we saw them.
