This was a great place! Customer service was superb and the grounds were lovely, as was the food. But, it was a bit pricey to me for a week-long stay.

Its not a great feeling, where you stand in a queue, next to people clutching one kilogram of maize meal and six eggs. Or a packet of dried dead fish and that plastic smiley faced Oros man. I’m watching them, occasionally watching us, our till spitting out more and more paper as we slide the goods through the laser beeper. Odd number, even number, odd, odd, even, odd, even. Manic mechanical chatter ...

We all wonder what will the future bring and what can we achieve! For me I set myself a target of seeing new places when I retired - having gone back into work twice has in a funny way helped me to see a new country and see many new sights in Kenya. As I approach the finish of my second interim assignment post my thoughts turn to what do I want to see and do - my bucket list is still considerable and has been put on hold whilst ...

After cleaning out the airport bar of beer and chips, frustrated passengers were finally able to board. ...

When the show was over, we had tea at the Flamingo Cafe, watched the birds in teh pond adjacent to the cafe, and then wandered along the paths, in and out of a couple of aviaries, and looked at birds in their cages, or were in the cages with the birds. The largest aviary had birds I love in it – Mzilikazi Roller, ...

We had to leave Graskop at 7 am for our long day of driving. It was another cold, grey morning with drizzle dampening the mood. We had bulky breakfast packs provided on the bus, and that sustained me until dinner.

Leaving Graskop the town was no longer socked in thick fog as the night before, but was still as dead as a ghost town. We passed through Pilgrim's Rest, South Africa’s historical gold rush town (1870s) and preserved ...
