This was a great place! Customer service was superb and the grounds were lovely, as was the food. But, it was a bit pricey to me for a week-long stay.

... very high quality work and efficient work.
I have been able to obtain a South African driving licence and the process through obtaining the traffic register, learners certificate (theory test), driving test, temporary driving licence and finally my full license has been so what lengthy and I have lost track of how much time I have queued through the process and how many copies I have had to produce of my ID, my residents permit, proof of address ...

The past few days have been all about relaxing and enjoying time with Erik's family. On Sunday, the day after we got back from our safari, we spent the day at friends of Cora and Simon’s (Pete and Jen) for a braai. I love how South African homes have such wonderful outdoor entertaining spaces – and their home is no exception. Wonderful company, chat, food, wine and relaxation! The 2005 Spier Shiraz is excellent if anyone can manage to ...

We then proceeded to start our incredibly long bus journey back up to Pretoria. With delays, it ended up being just over 21 hours long. A journey which makes all others pale in comparison! We were sad to find we ...

... to buy at a bookstore.

We then went to Soweto and mostly experienced it through the windows of a bus, sort of like watching a documentary from the comfort of a nice sofa. We passed by Regina Mundi Catholic Church (a center of resistance during the apartheid era) and Desmond Tutu’s house before getting to Nelson Mandela’s home. It was quite different than the time I visited in 2001. It was more like a museum without much at all other than ...

Having spent the past four days having my bridesmaid dress fitted it's finally the day of Carmen and Matt's Wedding. Our first week in South Africa has been great, we've met loads of Carmen and Matt's friends and family. Our first night here we went out for dinner and to the theatre with all of Matt's family. We had a great lunch with Carmen and her sister and we stayed with one ...
