After many a sleepless hour of planning and sorting and packing and wondering, the moment has come to unfurl the mighty wings and take to the air. ... about 2 hours later, we checked into the Casablanca Guest House. The owner Betty gave us a guided tour and pointed us in the direction of the complimentary wine. Instead we had a coffee, then drove into town and found a nice little buzzing pub, The Slug and Lettuce, where we had pizza, salad and beer. Back at the guest house we had a large glass of our complimentary 'chilled' red wine, wrong! Then went to bed, yet again absolutely exhausted. Song of the Day - Ghost Of A Shark by Tom ...
... generous wine tasting of 5 different wines. Interesting to start drinking at 10 am - but adds alot of laughs to the day. Hopefully AA will not be the first stop after our trip - do they have openings for 10?? Weight watchers here we come.
Then we went to lunch at another winery - just in case we were hungry - Laborie. Again great food. Then off to another winery - ...

Whilst in Stellenbosch we also wandered around the shops and admired the old Cape Dutch architecture. In the galleries one sees a different side of South African art – magnificent pewter ware by designers like Caroline Boyd, ceramics, painting and jewelry.
