    Overall great Hostel

This hostel was clean, friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and I really like the curtain around the bed, so you could feel like you had a bit of privicy. The staff were great and helped me find my own way to the Great Wall and also booked the train for the next part of my journey. Location is brilliant if you want to be in the heart of the Hutongs, although it is difficult to spot if you don't have a clue what you are looking for.

This was a great hostel. It was always clean, and there was always someone there to help us and answer any questions. The location is amazing. It's in an awesome area that is filled with restaurants, shops, and cafes. Our private double room was clean, well organized, and had its own bathroom. As it turns out, all the rooms, dormitory or private, have their own bathrooms. The hostel also includes a free breakfast at their cafe next door. The food there is great as well...try the burger! The staff was also great. Suggestions, help with anything, organizing shows and The Great Wall...they do it all.

This place has friendly and helpful staff. The location is great, close to line 6 on subway but you can also walk to major tourist destinations such as the Forbidden City and the beautiful Beihai Park.

Great place to stay. Very interesting location in Nanlougun with lots of interesting shops. You can hire bicycles and its the best way to travel around Beijing. Staff are very helpful and I had terrific communication with them before arriving as well.

    To the Great Wall!

Arriving in Beijing was a nervous and daunting experience. I had planned to use the directions I had been given by hostel world in an email, but I soon realised that wasn't going to happen, what was I to do?! I considered asking someone to direct me, but then I decided to go for the "easier" option and get in a taxi.

After a mediocre flight with Air Canada, we landed in Beijing in the early evening. Our first night was marked with exhaustion as we battled the fifteen-hour time change, forcing ourselves to stay awake until 10:00 PM local time. We stayed in a really cool hutong area, filled with traditional tiny homes, narrow alleyways, and smiling locals. Our …

Beijing was amazing. However well I may have adjusted to living in Luoyang, it was an amazingly fresh breath of air to go to a giant city filled with culture, nightlife, different food, a subway system, amazing shopping, beautiful sights, Starbucks, and a noticeable lack of staring at my blatantly Caucasian face. We were in Beijing for five full …

Today Kate and I went the Jinshaling section of the Great Wall. We chose this area of the wall as it is less crowded than the sections closer to Beijing. We were of to a brisk start picked up shortly after 6:00 for a long drive to the wall, I thought this would be a Great chance to view the countryside but it seems the city reaches a long way and …
