We had planned to reach the town of Bangor (Maine) for the night, but after talking to an (American) woman during breakfast at the bnb decided to drop down to Belfast on the coast, because of the better scenery down there. Going through customs was relatively easy, considering how hard they make it sometimes. The drive was good and during a stop for gas & washroom, we joked about the 16 foot Canadian canoe stuck in the back of a pick-up truck. ...

Lie Nielsen Hand Tools in Warren, Maine, deserved a visit and we all enjoyed the personal tour of the craftsman workshop where toolmakers precisely honed and shaped chisels, block planes, saws and more.
