... the tramp "cuanto cuesta?" the tramp replied "50 pesos" (more or less 10 pound)! Totty and Angel start studying the picture, the tramp holds the picture up and says that it is a picture of this plaza. Angels face was priceless, he looked at the picture, looked around, then back at the picture, made a funny face which said 'if you say so'. meanwhile Totty was mumbling in English something along the lines of "but it's ****, it looks like a kid has done it" then he told the ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina josie_doris... a couple days in BsAs so I was just super excited because I didn{t think we were going to get to see him at all.

Anyway we all set up a time to go and meet for lunch and that was pretty much our day we walked around the city for a while and then came back to our rooms to rest up for the next day. I can say already that I like BsAs more than I like Mendoza the city part anyway.

So until tomorrow CIty TOUR!
Buenos Aires, Argentina nana31902A wonderful city, especially for the young at heart. I am going to bed at 9 pm and they are just going out and staying out often till 8 am. Shows such as Evita, Che, Phantom of the Opera, tango shows, comedies. Pass two guys ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina sgaudun... Madero - The posh restaurant side of the docks. The tour then finished around 6pm. We got dropped off at the supermarket to grab some stuff for dinner tonight. Lorna knocked up a chilli con carne, with extra chilli's and peppers, for dinner and it was lovely.....and hot! Nice. We then sat having a beer with some of the others in the common room - Nick from San Francisco, James from York, Karin from Sydney and Polina from New York.
Buenos Aires, Argentina vickersontour... this latter part. The good thing about the convertibility was inflation stopped in its tracks since Argentina was essentially pegged to the US Federal Reserve's monetary policy and relatively low inflation (US was running 2-3% inflation in the 1990s, while Argentina formerly had double-digit inflation without a matching appreciation in wages). Even today, all ATMs offer USD and ARS withdrawals (though none of them ...
Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina chiapoe... cities we've visited and we decided to spend more time here to really experience it. The extended period of 9 nights - almost the longest in one place on our trip so far - is due to our decision to exclude Uruguay from this trip. We just got tired of moving all the time and had a lot of admin to conclude. Hopefully we can visit Uruguay sometime in our future travels. It was stifling hot in BA with temperatures reaching 40degrees celsius accompanied with high humidity ...
Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina vine_hooligans... So close to the city, this place is a great spot to get away from it all. Holiday houses are a dime a dozen and available for rent anytime of the year. It's reminiscent of all the places you used to go as kids for holidays - before urban sprawl and baby booming lifestylers made themall unaffordable and inaccessible to the many. Giulio's father in law, Vicente, comes round for dinner that night, and as Pierpaolo pre-empted, he is a fascinating man to talk to. As a ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina barneyandpier... pizzas there. The apartment they had rented was absolutely beautiful, in a really expensive area, it was on the top floor, there was an outside terrace with tables, chairs and jacuzzi, the inside was great too. We met Keith's mum and dad, they were really cool, unfortunately they had their luggage lost on the flight over, and when it arrived found lots of clothes stolen, on Iberia, so maybe avoid them in the future! Quiet worrying when you think that people ...
Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina jon-daniella... greener areas of Buenos Aires until GT's knee started playing up and we had to take it easy - so I took him shopping instead ;-) One pair of 4 inch heels (which after 8 months of flip-flops I'll be unlikely to be able to walk in) & a party dress and the wardrobe had been upgraded enough to be able to party in Punta del Este, Rio and where-ever else the occasion may arise. Whilst we were in the area we went to check out Café Tortoni, Argentina's oldest coffee house ...
