... left-hand traffic. I found that once my brain was rewired, and it took about a week, that I felt very safe driving on the left side. Some research shows that countries driving on the left have a lower collision rate than countries driving on the right. It has been suggested that this is partly because humans are more commonly right-eye dominant than left-eye dominant. In left-hand traffic, the predominantly better-performing right eye is used to monitor oncoming traffic ...

... somewhere in the main CBD of cape town which was awesome. Temperature is lovely here at night time.

[Postscript]- Was just interrupted writing up this entry as Janine suggested a scorpion had somehow made it into our room. Fortunately Mike, the assistant at our accomodation, swiftly dealt with it. Attached is the photo to prove it. After breakfast we went to a local church for our class discussion. It was called Cape Town Union Congregational Church. The pastor was very welcoming and let us use the sanctuary as a meeting space since the other spaces were being used. He talked to us a little about the history of the church and told ...

This was actually practice for tomorrow's excursion down to the Cape of Good Hope, and it is our good hope that the practice will, if not make perfect, at least reduce the level of the adventure of driving.

Also, we hope this hasn't been too long, but it has been a tremendously interesting and enjoyable day with much upon which to comment. Hopefully we'll update again tomorrow night.

    Best regards,
