Our final stop over on the banks of Lake Superior was Thunder Bay. This excitingly named but ultimately quite dull city is on the north west edge of Lake Superior and was the starting point for our journey across the centre of Canada. The most exciting thing to happen in Thunder Bay was finding tofu and veggie sausages in the supermarket, a first in Canada.

After we left Fort McMurray, we had returned to Sharon’s grandfather’s farm in Grassland and had another visit with cousin Matthew. The guy behind us was not under the impression that red meant stop nor that we were even there! Having had ...

We left Moose Jaw and got onto the Yellow Head Hwy (16) at Saskatoon, SK. The traffic has been very light and good but it has been very windy. Some intersections are marked "important intersection". We have not figured out what is more important at some intersections than others. There are alot of oil wells & gas wells in Alberta. We stayed tonight at a a ...

... To finish up, I'll go to Lima (via Cuzco, with a day trip to Machu Picchu). Outside of my flights in/out of South America, I will be doing this entire trip by bus. The only time I have ever left Canada was two years ago, when I went to Finland (with a Finn, at that, so there wasn't even really a language barrier). This time, I'll be traveling alone, with my knowledge of Spanish and Portugese being limited to whatever I can find in my pocket ...
