We originally joined him as he was heading to the Chinese province of Qinghai on the Tibetan plateau, Qinghai is formally Tibet but that conversation is for another time. Both Donna and I fancied heading to Qinghai as it's the easiest way to see Tibetan people, Tibetan ...

... as possible because a busy restaurant must be a good restaurant right!? We meet Vivian in the bar under our hostel by about 9. She knows the owner and got us some free beers. She also asked me to get up on stage and play guitar. Everything was mic'd up, the guitar treble was too loud and the vocals too quiet, but without touching a guitar for two months I still knocked out an attempt at Britney Spears' Hit Me Baby One More Time.
