Nice easy cycle in the sun!
29th Sept
We caught the bus from Ayutthaya to Sukhothai which took around six hours. The journey was pretty ****, I had two seats to myself for most of the way until 'IT' got on board. I was fast asleep until 'IT' sat its massive **** on the seat next to me. I woke up in shock that the biggest wannabe transexual was sitting next to me. …
Loi Krathong - Festival of Candles and Lanterns
Have spent 2 days enjoying the festivities in Sukhothai, one of the former capitals of Thailand. As a former capital, there are old temple ruins scattered around a nice park like area that are nice to view by bicycle. These festivities, called Loi Krathong (candle festival) coincided with the November full moon and are celebrated with little floats …
Day 7 & 8 - Sukhothai - bye bye Forel

Finally to Mae Sot
Yet another long and winding road. Through the northern Thai mountains from Chiang Mai to Mae Sot - finally travelling in the right direction. At the bus station I heard the young girl in front of me ask about a ticket to Mae Sot. Seems we would have to wait a few hours to get the direct bus so I told her I too wanted to go to Mae Sot and she, …
Location
TravelPod Member ReviewsBan Thai Guesthouse Sukhothai
Ban Thai is located just a few minutes from the bridge into new town. It is also located 100 yards from the songtheaw that takes you to the Historic Park. The bungalows are set in a nice garden surrounded by lush jungle like flora and even includes a fish pond. One of the family members grows Banzi plants and some are truly magnificent. The rooms are spotlessly clean and have comfortable large queens size bed. There is no TV and that is no problem if the WIFI works properly. My only complaint is that the WIFI is very iffy in the rooms and we had the bungalow closest to the office. It represent a very good value and if your looking for a quiet and clean place in a good location you can't do better than here.
