The final interesting thing I noticed here already was their apparent ability to distinguish between two types of food, apple and pumpkin, and choose which one they liked when Jessica asked them.
So far for the fun and interesting tidbits about the Chimps, as Jessica also ...

... camp was Punda Maria in the north, and the north of Kruger is somewhere we would love to spend more time if we ever return. There were less tourists, beautiful scenery; the camp was how we like it quiet and well spaced out. Skukuza we would avoid if at all possible. Paul was disappointed he didn’t see many big cats, which we were surprised at as well. We were out early enough in the morning and took our time driving around ...
Kruger National Park, Mpumalanga, South Africa neilandchris... see what they know about HIV and how they have acquired this knowledge. I also really want to know people's views/opinions on it, as these are often not the same as the scientific information they may have been given. I hope everyone is well at home. I am sad to miss the beautiful fall, but the warm African sun is very nice too. I have more internet access here than I thought, so feel free to email me an update on how things are going where you are!

I also saw kudu, which are a type fo antelope that have the most amazing antlers. I will try to post a pic if I get the travel blog going properly. But you should look up a pic of a kudu on the internet. There were also zebra, warthogs (Pumbaa from the Lion King), wildebeest, steenboks (another antelope) but one of the most amazing things we saw was a black ...

I was laughing listening to one of the English girls explain what a burrito was to one of the African guys that hangs out at the house. Who would have thought Mexican food has turned into something unique our continent? We are making them again tonight because they were such a hit last week. If we are taking over the world by exporting our culture I vote less Jerry Springer and more refried beans. I have ...

I gather that these creches are funded in part from the government and their parents pays 20 rand a month to send their children there, which is less than 3 American dollars. but 20 rand is a lot of money in South Africa especially for these families. I have started to really get to know the kids in my class ...

The comedy was superb, even on the recording, and the highlight was our friend Ari Chester, who put together a fantastic set concerning gays in the military and sex at Wharton. We are hoping to meet up with Ari on the Australia leg of our jaunt. Today, Friday, June 16, we again awoke at 530am for a morning drive. Unfortunately, the ...
