... the road into Lindau, I spotted our hotel.
After checking in I waited in the Beer Garden for Les and Gilly and they eventually turned up 30 minutes later as the heavens opened up with a big down pour!
As the hotel appeared to have a nice restaurant and bar we decided to spend the evening there and we weren't disappointed with the steak that we ordered!

Today we left the buzz of the city and throngs of tourists behind and headed for the hills. Five hours later we settled in a lovely little town high in the alpine with a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains and valley below. And yes, the water was ...
... On the way we were treated to
cheese and wine.
On arrival we were shown up to our own private dining room
for a very fancy lunch. Corinne’s brother and his wife, Urs and Regula,
serenaded both Corinne and Grandfather, whilst other relatives recited home
written poems about the two of them. All very formal and all very in German. A
three course meal later we all said our good byes and headed on our separate
To cut a long story short we finished our meal, got to
Constance, stepped off the boat and walked away. Bargain trip…….if they can’t
get organized it’s their loss.
A uneventful ride back to camp was followed by a BRAAI IN
THE RAIN……meat is good at any time especially when washed down with copious
amounts of beer and wine.
After a quite lovely night of quite reasonable weather - well above what we had been subjected to for the past week or so of camping - we rose to the start of a reasonable day! Showers each (the first hot shower that we actually had to pay for - although it was cheap) and then back to the tent for a coffee/tea and we were ready to begin the day. Not much longer and we had the whole kit and kaboodle packed up and in the red rocket. On the road, but only ...
