I know we have just checked in but so far this is brilliant. Really nice lady checking us in (we were thinking of staying in a hotel that was 5 times the price but decided last minute to come here and have not regretted it since), extremely good value, very clean, looks like great beds (have not slept in it yet), great tuk tuk tour arranged by guesthouse and now sitting outside listening to animals with a cool beer, life could not be better!!

All this came to a quick end when the Burmese invaded in 1767 and …

I collected my backpack from the train station and got myself a ticket to Ayutthaya. The trains run quite often, but despite this, the train was late. When I finally got on, I was joined in my 3rd class seat by a lovely old lady. She must have been in her 80s and was very happy to be sitting next to me and practicing her English, which was …

    Goodbye Elephants :(

... the hell not, lets have some fun with her". I still had alot of fun at the same time sloshing around in the river and patting her head when she actually was good. It was sad to think it would be my last ride as it is a glimpse into the relastionships that the mahouts have with their elephants and its a very special one indeedy. The same duties applied to today except from the scrubbing, instead we walked Pisamy back down to the river for a chanca for ...
