... us a new perspective of the terrain. Since we stayed the week in an apartment on the Prinsengracht canal we were able to explore the more quiet and real city with its unique architecture and daily life. It seems that most people live in really narrow three-story houses or apartments and often take a chair out to the sidewalk and sit and read or have beer. Amsterdam is a civilized city with polite and respectful citizens who know how to enjoy life.
