Streets and Canals
... us a new perspective of the terrain. Since we stayed the week in an apartment on the Prinsengracht canal we were able to explore the more quiet and real city with its unique architecture and daily life. It seems that most people live in really narrow three-story houses or apartments and often take a chair out to the sidewalk and sit and read or have beer. This afternoon we went to the Anne Frank House. Definitely a genuine tour. The whole place has been renovated and fixed up, but they have left many of the artifacts ...
Amsterdam: Lekker Weekend with Czech Friend
... by a canal. We ended the day with a tour through the Sex Museum, which was both bizarre and funny.
In the morning, I decided it was time for Terka to see her fist old Dutch windmill in the city, so we walked to the De Gooyer windmill, one of the last two standing in Amsterdam before doing a tour through the Van Gogh Museum. We were pretty tired after the museum, so we decided to get some lunch and eat it along Herengracht (Lord's Canal). We then walked ...
