    Catherine had selected and pre-ordered her birthday cake the day before from a local patisserie. It was a chocolate mousse cake, and she planned to decorate it that evening.     ... to add backpack straps to the bag before our next bit of travel but as usual, I ran out of time and ended up lugging it around by the now heavily re-enforced handles. I of course did all of this sewing by hand with a strong needle, duct tape w/ coin thimbles and my heavy duty Coats and Clark Extra Strong upholstery thread. When I finished late that night, I had a set of heavy duty backup straps that I could detach from my bag yet still rely on to lift 100 lbs or more onto my back.
