... Claire solved the mystery of why we can’t find gin in the supermarkets and it is because none of them sell spirits. We have to go to a liquor shop, like our off licence, which is separate to the supermarket. There is a beautiful view from the club overlooking the estuary and we could see the wicked gusts coming from all directions. We would not have liked to be out there is a dinghy.

... Not really my cup of tea, as I don't like mayonnaise but apparently the locals are crazy for it. I think almost everyone bought some snacks here. It was my first experience paying to use the bathroom or WC ("water closet") as they call it in Europe, at a cost of 50 Euro-cents. ... plates and cups. They are just like plastic sheets of well.. plastic and they are cut out and you fold them into shapes for a bowl, plate and spoon. Thought they would be pretty handy for our next tours when we don't have the facilities to hold onto everything like we did in our car. They weren’t on sale though... always turns out that way.
