... including a kind of focaccia, apparently typical of the Camargue. For ready-to-eat or take-away food there were huge dishes of paella as we have seen all over Arles. As you would expect, there were huge stalls of cheese, some selling only goats cheese and others only sheep's cheese. Stalls of tapenade of all kinds, and lots of honey stalls. ... back in our hotel around 4. I want to walk up the hilltop to the castle remains. After a fortifying beer the lads decide to join me. Bully did this walk yesterday and has some extra places to show us. The walk up is steep and heart stopping. Feels almost vertical. But the views of the surrounds are amazing as we watch the sun settle over Provence. This village is so tre belle. Dinner is at l'Oustelat. ... time in the "Palais de Papas" and whilst walking the Pont de Avignon, we enjoyed a refreshing ice cream. The Lavender was exceptionally good as was the Straccitella and Peter's Chocolate Mint and Vanilla was just as delicious. As we exist the huge gate that was the entrance to Avignon you can't help yourself but sing the tune "Sul la Pont D'Avignon". The original name of the bridge is "Pont St-Benezet", built in 1177 ...

... at 7 in morning as very long drive to Reims for the night, our last night together. This has all gone too quickly !!!!
