The city that didn't fit in our camera!
Hong Kong is a special administrative region of People's Republic of China. It is an ex-colony of British Empire and we can feel the consequences (e.g. cars driving on the left). Although Hong Kong's population is 95 percent ethnic Chinese and 5 percent from other groups, it is much more different than China’s mainland. The people are …

In a city full of loud noise and herds of people i find myself alone in the rain with only the sound of small waves below me. Just a bit earlier i was at the …

TravelPod Member ReviewsAshoka Guest House Hong Kong
Like all the hostels in the Chungking Mansions, it's a super cheap place to stay the night that is just clean enough to be acceptable.

Ashoka Guest House is situated on the 16th floor of a building called Chungking Mansions - a run down block of units on top of a market. There are numerous questionable characters hanging around where you have to get the lift up to the rooms and it's not generally a nice area at all. The room itself was tiny, if one of us was stood up, the other had to stay on the bed - there literally wasn't room for both of us in there! The service was good, no problems with the staff etc. but probably wouldn't recommend for reasons above.
