today everyone else has gone for what will doubtless be a very soggy hike up Kinder Scout. Having no raincoat and only one pair of usefull shoes, I opted to stay and mind the boat.
Between showers (and under some) I took a stroll to the nearest town, New Mills.

Set off from home just before 2.30pm. Had a good ride over on the motorway as you do. Got within 48miles of Manchester City and we had to drop down to 50mph then 40mph because of queueing. So had a steady run then it picked up again, then we came upon more queues. Then incident ahead which appeared to be roadworks. We were pleasEd to get off the M62 onto the M60. Geoff had already checked where we needed to be on Google ...

This mill, when it was working, would only make the cotton rather than do the weaving as well. These machines were huge, firstly one called the devil, which would clean the cotton and then the carding machines which would take the raw ...

Hey all! Here are some pics from my most recent adventures. I've just been trying to explore the city and see what it has to offer! I'm pretty sure my hangout will be the NQ! (Northern Quarter). So many cool places to go eat and just have a good time. I'm excited to go back! John Rylands Library ...
