As the tile says a great place to stay. Close to the beach. Clean rooms and bathrooms and a well equipped kitchen. The garden can be used to relax in the hammocks or just to sit on the terrace. The manager is friendly and helpful.

      Rarotonga and Aitutaki, Cook Islands

We left New Zealand on Thursday morning (sept 3rd) and arrived in Cook Islands on the Wednesday (sept 2nd). Cooks are 22 hours behind New Zealand even though its only a 4 hour flight which is strange. Something to do with some international time line or something like that.
Our itinerary in the Cooks was to fly into Rarotonga (main island) on …

Pfff, it is a dirty job but somebody has got to do it...

Zie …

... so long. But after we got on the tender, we understood why. The tender ride to the ship was uneventful, that is, until we pulled next to the ship and were about to get off the tender. It was a real adventure to get people off the tender, because the current was too strong. The tender would rise up and down with the big waves, and the waves pushed the tender against the landing, making horrible crashing sound and creating big jolts. The ...

One Last Day on this Beautiful Island

Kia Orana, and I know I sound like a broken record by now, but we woke up to rain, inglorious rain. At least it was a warm rain! And we'd gotten our fill of this beautiful island and were actually ready to turn our thoughts homeward.

We drove one last time to Wiggy's (Wigmore's Superstore) in the rain for sandwiches, then came home and ate them. Walked on the beach in the drizzle and picked up a shell or two to bring home. Drove the bike back to the rental place and realized ...
