Arrival at Magnetic Island
Saturday we left Cairns and had a 6 hr bus journey to Townsville, we then caught the ferry out to Magnetic Island and were picked up from the ferry station by our guest house owners in their Rolls Royce! This was more like it!
After settling in to the gorgeous beachfront guest house we took a wander down to the local bottle shop and then had dinner in the BYO fish and chip shop.

The next day we set off to explore some of the island and did the Forts walk. During WWII Australia was under threat of invasion from the Japanese. Mini Moke on Magnetic Island
Monday was our last day full day on the island so we hired a Mini Moke to get around. This was great fun to blast around in and since the island only really has one road you cant go too wrong! Don't know what engine it had but you could definitely hear us coming!
