We booked the "Fishermen Hut" through Sealink. The hut is beautifully decorated and situated right across the street from Geoffrey Bay - Alma Bay is about 10-15 min to walk. The young staff is friendly. However the room was not very clean and breakfast awfully poor. Children also pay AUD 7 for some dry toast bread and water. The fridges looked disgusting.
2 stars instead of 1 for the lovely design of the hut and because they allowed us to use the room until 11 instead of 10am. Would be a great location if clean.

Camped at a free camp at Fletcher Creek about 40 k north of Charters Towers - lovely spot on the edge of a creek. Tonight was camp oven night with a lovely fire and a roast ...
