    ... last 10 days, so it kind of felt like we had returned to civilization. Oh, and we crossed a time zone.. so when we arrived an hour earlier than expected there was mass confusion. Tricky little country this is!

    ... Unfortunately we didn't spot any (we had been lucky to see a pod in the distance on our snorkelling trip) but we enjoyed the bicep workout and a hysterical albeit desperate scramble to get back into our kayak after capsizing to avoid being stung jellyfish!     ... because of the sugar mill in the one street town. We had driven by fields of sugar cane in the rain. It would have been an awesome drive but the rain made it a drive. We drove from 10 am to 5 pm with an hour break for lunch and stopped about 4 times for the hail/rain to let up ~ 367 km - more than we needed too to make our time line and really shouldn't have taken as long as it did but rain and significant road work, twinning the highway made it slower.     ... away a couple of afternoons indulging in the local Byron Bay brew, which is absolutely excellent - I may need to find an importer when I get home!

    We also did some more coastal walks along the stunning coastline to the most easterly point of Australia's mainland, just great views the whole way, awesome, despite getting a little damp with the first rain from Marcia!

    ... several countries to judge by the accents.We found a great bookshop and of course made a purchase or two. Then we went right to the Beach itself.
