    Eager for Eger

We had a long, winding drive through the deep forest where we came across maybe two cars in a matter of 45 minutes. This had both of us a little on edge wondering if we were going to come to a road closure because earlier in the drive we saw some signs with X marks through them...again. We made it out of the mountains (phew!) and back to civilization. We drove through quite a few small, run down towns but managed to see the charm in all of them. We got to Eger and had a ...

Friday after work and school we drove to Miskolc in northeastern Hungary. We were here once before to visit the cave baths on a grey and cold late winter day. Now we have returned at te inviatation of our office mate, Istvan, and his wife, Csilla. Csilla grew up in the area, and her father still lives near Miskolc, so they have been planning for weeks to show us a good time. The weather has been spotty for days, including a couple of downpours on the way to ...

    Lovely Eger

We arrived in Eger last night about 1700 and checked into our hotel and once again we have a most exquisite room. We are in a separate complex and are the only ones there. We have a separate sitting room, a king bed even a walk in closet. It is beautifully furnished, quiet and comfy! We went for a stroll around the beautiful town before dinner. The dinner tonight was served family style with goulash soup, goose liver, meat platter, and desert of strudel and a small almond ...
