... to go and buy a bloody thicker jacket to stay warm. Went on a city tour with a few guides from shelter city, very friendly people. After the tour, went to visit vondelpark. Unfortunately we were too tired and cold to properly explore the park. But a glimpse is better than none at all :) Back in the hostel, met two American girls here on a volunteer trip, working in shelter city. Very cool and friendly ladies. Almost didn't make it into Amsterdam :O
... eventually put two and two together and realised it was for Queens Day. The monument is a bit weird, tall white pole but the front has two lions garding and then some more statues (as we discover coming from behind).

We started out onto the dock when two crewmen saw us and took our bags. We followed them onboard and were greeted at the main desk. We were instructed to proceed to the main lounge and told that a light lunch would soon be set out. We had a nice warm creamy soup which was very refreshing. We also had a variety of finger foods to fill us up.
