After a very early start we flew into Amsterdam to grey cool weather. The train runs from the airport to the city centre so we bought tickets, waited at the right platform and ended up getting on the wrong train! Surprise surprise! ... of artificial lakes made through the cutting of peat. Most of the land here is used for farming, especially sheep, dairy cows and goats. Many of the homes along the bike paths are on canals and they have traditional thatch roofing - which isn't surprising considering reeds grow everywhere. Em seems to be enjoying the bike trip so far, she especially likes seeing the animals and visiting gardens and museums. Hopefully tomorrow we will get to visit a cheese and clog making ...

PS! With the change of plans we have actually added a few countries into our travel plans! I may or may not be in Budapest for my birthday!

... in Carmarthen meeting up with friends which was just great. We had a big day the next day going through to Brecon where we came across a music festival, in the streets and pubs and church halls. It was a great unexpected pleasure though still haven't heard the Welsh men sing! We went on through the magnificent and famous hill scenery of the Brecon Beacons. ... I lead Francois in the direction of Anne Frank House once there I see a queue outside (about 10 people), we learn that it is open until 9pm, its now 7pm so we decide to go in, I imagine that its twice as busy during the day.
