... beer, and had a bit of an antipasto plate as our late arvo, early evening dinner. It was nice just to relax, help Mum and Dad with some planning of their trip, and make sure I was all ready to go for tomorrow, after I successfully washed all my stuff these last couple of days. ... did have some lovely smooth creamy cheeses though. We stopped for lunch, I had some sate kippers. Quite nice but a little chewy. Then it was a boat ride to Marken, another little fishing village dating bake to the 1100's. The boat ride was beautiful and sunny, but as we pulled into Marken the rain came down. ... Amsterdam. Really neat! We had something to drink and do a little people watching. Next place we want to go is the Red Light District, hereafter, referred to as the RLD. Now I sound like a lawyer. Robert said it was just a few more blocks but turned out to be about 25 or 30. Oh well, it was fun to wander and absorb the Amsterdam culture. Exhibit A - the shower looks like something you would find in a very run down footy club. There is one shower head, no curtain and no door. It is simply attached onto the end of the kitchen. What the hell. Don't worry, one of those wipers that you would find at the service station to wipe all of the soapy water off your windscreen is here, so you can wipe all of the stray water into the shower ...
