... a national park covered with pine forests and saltwater lakes . I took a rest. Late afternoon we arrived in Dubrovnic and the ship sailed past the old city walls as we had dinner. Certainly a great view as the walls just straight down . Also saw the old port area with what seemed to be much lower and maybe had a beaching area for boats ...

The drive was quite long again, but we stopped off in Montenegro for lunch, which was already an improvement from Albania. Our hotel at Dubrovnik was pretty good, and right on the beach a little way out of the city. We had a group dinner that night and then a walking tour of the Old Town, which was really impressive to look at both day and night. The city walls were huge ...

of Croatia in Cavtat. Little town with lots of little cafes. Only stopped long enough
for Kirk to do the paperwork and me to walk up the main street . Irish man who was there for a wedding helped us dock then chatted to Ron while I walked a little way into town.with Ron. Checking into Montenegro in Zelinka. Not much happened there other than docking up against huge black balls on the dock intended for large boats but they made my cleaned fenders all ...

It was only a hundred yards or so, but I didn't want to get pounded by the inconsistent downpour that came and went every 10 minutes. As soon as I turned the corner towards the promenade, I was shocked to see about 500 people walking around with their umbrellas and cameras. My guess was that there must have been a cruise ship or lots of your buses because they came ...

    Beautiful Dubrovnik

... Saturday) and on Sunday, there will be over 7000 people each day exploring the city!

There is a lovely beach, with some sand, a few minutes away from our apartment so we had a swim and sunbake for a few hours in the afternoon.

We had dinner just outside the city gate near the water and then went for a wander inside. It's a mass of alleys, shops, restaurants, churches, markets, museums and houses. The limestone buildings are beautiful.
