Today we visited the UNESCO town of Telc. Pronounced Telch like belch. Un untouched 16th. century town.

Had a limited castle tour as they are filming the movie "Emperor". Barbara auditioned for a solo and got the part!! Only problem, we can't be here for the rest of the filming.

... for books in German, Latin, Spanish, Italian, and French. A case held books dating back to the 1600's. The Chapter Huose was a beautiful room with fabulous acoustics, now used for concerts and weddings. The cloisters were especially lovely, with renaissance decoration. And then there was the church. ... a film could be made there. One of the Czech extras came out in costume to explain the situation. Adrian Brody is the lead and the film will be called The Emperor. This meant we could see the interior of the castle nor could we visit the castle museum. We were disappointed and will have to wait for he movie to see what we missed.

Up relatively early - but still better at sleeping in! We got our stuff packed and piled in the car and moving! Down the back roads from Plzen, via Lnare, Blatna, Pisek and Ceske Budkovice we finally made it to Cesky Krumlov. The drive down the back roads was great, with a random castle or two and an amazing bridge in Pisek.

... veins and all the fun underground there is! It was an amazing experience and I highly recommend it. We then headed back into town and the main square, where we drank some Burcek (young wine) and looked for people wearing inappropriate footwear on the cobble stones. We saw a lot, mostly from a Russian tour group. The winter type boots I bought in Zakopane about 6 days ago, the soles are already nearly worn through. They may not last the rest of this trip, and ...
