We visited Goreme, an area where rocks eroded into hundreds of spectacular pillars and minaret-like forms. Many of the carved out houses, church and monasteries are on display today, so were able to see some of the 30 churches and chapels carved into the landscape. It was a low, narrow tunnel that went down about three stories, then back up again, with a small empty room at the end of it.
